holly wales is an illustrator, lecturer and art director. she has also contributed articles to grafik, eye and digital arts magazines. she's keen to learn new ways of making things a one-time bicycle connousieur and eternal image-maker, holly explores a variety of subject matter through self-initiated and commercial work for a range of international clients. she systematically experiments with materials and subject and enjoys work which has a story to tell. she works because it's fun and thinks collaboration and embracing the unknown are the future. holly is a teaching fellow at winchester school of art for ba graphic arts. she illustrates a regular weekly column, 'lives', for the new york times magazine. she was recently listed as a 'visual engineer' as one of the courvoisier500's 'ones to watch' in the observer. she lives somewhere on the fine line between london and berlin.
