holly wales is an illustrator, lecturer and art director. she has also contributed articles to grafik, eye and digital arts magazines. she's keen to learn new ways of making things look good and interested to work with people who do all sorts of things.

a one-time bicycle connousieur and eternal image-maker, holly explores a variety of subject matter through self-initiated and commercial work for a range of international clients. she systematically experiments with materials and subject and enjoys work which has a story to tell. she works because it's fun and thinks collaboration and embracing the unknown are the future.

holly is a teaching fellow at winchester school of art for ba graphic arts. she illustrates a regular weekly column, 'lives', for the new york times magazine. she was recently listed as a 'visual engineer' as one of the courvoisier500's 'ones to watch' in the observer.

she lives somewhere on the fine line between london and berlin.
